This program is open to all Law Enforcement and Military Personnel. The mission of the Collaboration Program is to train Law Enforcement and military in close quarters Combatives in order to instill and prepare them to close with and defeat the enemy in hand to hand combat. In this program, the members are allowed to train 4+ days in the arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo.
What
is Judo? Judo was developed in the 19th century
from a number of jujitsu methods. Initially
it was separated into two distinct practices,
one for self-defense and one for physical
conditioning. These days, judo is practiced
mainly as a sport, which has competitions
and tournaments worldwide. The main techniques
of this art are throwing and grappling which
include chokes, strangling skills and arm
locks. Judo fighters spend much of their training
in learning how to throw their opponents with
minimal strength and how to transition from
their throwing techniques into successful
grappling positions.
What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? (BJJ), also known as Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (GJJ), is a martial art that was first developed in Brazil by the Gracie family during the mid-20th century. (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position from which to force an attacker to submit. Originally based on the Japanese Martial art of Judo as it existed before World War II, it has since developed into a relatively independent system with a large emphasis on ground fighting and grappling.
